This excellent boy is Watson! 🥰
Watson is a sensitive guy and he’s had some changing social preferences in recent years. Mom isn’t sure whether it’s from limited social experiences during the pandemic or something else so Watson is getting some extra support figuring things out. ❤️
It’s little man Gil day! 🥰
This buddy’s pain issue is finally getting figured out and his touch sensitivity is moving the right direction. He was in the best spirits we’ve seen him in today.
Now to knuckle down and work on his tv barking! ❤️
This little cup of holiday spice is Marge! 🥰
Marge has a history of being wary with new to her humans. Sometimes though, like today, she makes friends easily which has made it trickier for her mom to figure out how best to handle social interactions.
Even though she made friends with us easily, we still kept her supports in place so Marge can start to get those social interactions looking more consistent and we can help her slow them down when she’s not able to slow them down herself. ❤️
This cutest man is Macho! 🥰
Macho’s parents found him as a stray in rough condition and after fostering him through the shelter, decided they couldn’t let him go. We can see why!
Macho has a big personality. He also has some big feelings that can be exacerbated by chronic pain issues. He’s on a good pain management plan but with a lot of changes in his household and routine recently, he needs a little help smoothing those big feelings out. ❤️
For goodness sake’s, guys. Please meet Maynard. 🥹🥰
Maynard is an @austin_bulldog_rescue boy who was found at only about a year old with a body condition score of .5 on a scale of one to ten. He was starved so badly his organs and esophagus were shutting down.
Somehow, he has miraculously recovered but he still has some lingering physical and behavioral effects of such a terrible start in life. We’re going to bring in one of our favorite veterinary behaviorists to make sure we’re effectively piecing the medical and behavioral together and Maynard is currently in foster with one of ABR’s directors so we can keep gathering info as we work with him.
This buddy really touched our heart today. He has a lot going on but while he needs some special support, much of what’s going on is really wonderful. We love you already, Maynard. ❤️

This cutest young man is Rolo! 🥰
Rolo wants to make sure everyone knows he’s #adoptable and is working hard on his bravery with his #foster family so he’s ready when the time comes to go home for keeps.
This kiddo doesn’t seem to have a ton of experience with certain things and they can worry him a little but support and reassurance help and when he’s comfortable, his party side shows. He feels bravest going for walks in his urban neighborhood with the whole foster fam (mom, dad, canine sister) along in case anything scary like construction sounds happens.
Rolo enjoys the company of other dogs *and* he has peacefully met cats, ducks, and a horse! 🐕 🐈 🦆🐎

We got to check in with puppy faced boy Mason this morning! 🥰
This cutest guy and mom are navigating his adolescence together and all that entails. Soon, Mason, mom, and canine brother Charlie will also move in with dad. Mason LOVES dad and thinks he’s *the most exciting person* so in addition to his out and about skills, we’re adding be a liiiittle calmer with dad to his plan. 😅❤️
We are thankful to have spent today’s @orangedotcrew in-shelter day with precious older gentlemen LB and Cobalt! 🥰
And we are also thankful to the amazing volunteers who made thanksgiving dinner for the shelter pups! Both of these boys were *thrilled* with their special meal.
Today was our first day back post surgery and we’re still technically on activity restriction this week and next so we asked for reliably easy dogs for this week’s roster to ease back in. LB and Cobalt were perfect for that task!
Both of these boys were adopted years ago and have found themselves back at the shelter as @classiccaninesatx this go around. LB lost his home when his owner was evicted and Cobalt when his owner moved into an assisted living facility.
They also share the fact that they are easy, low maintenance companions in a home with a penchant for cuddling on the couch. You may think that’s just because they’re older now but LB has been a true house hippo his whole life.
We would love to see these boys back out of the kennel environment and in a home for keeps and we know that’s what they want too. Please consider them and email orangedotcrew@gmail.com to learn more or set up a date. ❤️
